Miata Playseat modification

This is a quick walkthrough of rebuilding my PlaySeat Evolution to replace the standard included seat with a passenger seat from a 94 Mazda Miata.

I had quite a few reasons I wanted to give this a try. For starters, the standard seat that is included with this rig kind of sucks. It doesn’t have a lot of padding, and even with the included sliders, I never could get it quite as comfortable as I wanted it to be. Plus I replaced the seats in my Miata, and this one was in pretty good condition so I didn’t want to trash it.

One of the biggest advantages the Miata seat added, besides comfort, was it’s head rest mounted speakers. I figured tying these into my ancient Logitech 5.1 surround system to act as rear speakers would be an excellent idea, and it was.

Seat adjustment rail is too wide

The adjustment rail for the standard Playseat seat rails is a little too wide for when installed on the Miata. We'll have to modify this.

Present day, it looks like this!
